Goodbye Mr. Bingley

Filed under: Warrior's exploration — asianwarrior @ 6:11 am

After some reconsideration and cost analysis….I have decided Mr. Bingley will not work. Mr. Bingley is my future retriever that I was planning to adopt from the animal shelter.  He is not a specific dog, I was just planning to name which ever dog I get Mr. Bingley. I wanted Mr. Bingley because dogs are so much more useful than cats. They can watch over your house, prevent thrift, take a walk with you, and actually love you and be loyal. This is how I came to the conclusion that it is a dead dream. First of all, I don’t take walks. And then these other grievances came along. Dogs are high maintenance. I don’t like the smell of dogs. I don’t want Mr. Bingley to be in my bed with me. I hate it when dogs get excited and create a victim by excessive salivation. My alternative was a tiny dog, a chiwawa or anything. So why not get a cat then? Don’t need to bath them. They are satisfied with themselves and don’t need social company. Easy.

So in the memorial of Mr. Bingley, I will not re-use his name. I shall name my future cat Mr. Darcy. I think Mr. Bingley in personality is more a dog and vice versa for Mr. Darcy. I am excited for Mr. Darcy’s arrival next fall. heartssssss

Quote of the hour November 10, 2009

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

Yes I love you sooooo much Jay Chou….I know……this is completely creepy…whatever! I vowed to marry him since middle school! I do what I want, he do what I want! Hahaha Jk…..

After a series of horrid events—HON social( thanks Sriyutha you made it, I heart you), genetics test, poli sci paper, job interviewing ( which was actually quite fun), bumping into many objects due to my poor driving skills ( thank budda no major damages…..), gaining f***ing like 20 pounds, catching the flu from some incompetent people, missing two classes, losing my doctor’s note, getting a 125 dollar fine from the library for a book that clearly says its due date is January 2010, using toilet paper to blow my nose because I am too lazy to go to Wal-Mart,and worst of all, the tofu I bought at Market Street was bad—I still manage to be alive and  in my usual ecstatic mood.

And my usual food pictures…..I cannot recall what else I’ve eaten for the past 2 weeks……I should just bring my camera with me 24/7

My other cousin plays softball and he had some super cute pictures…so I am gonna share them with you without him notified. 😉

. . . . . . . . My cousin Alex is getting married at age twenty six. He has known Eva since their early college career. They are absolutely adorable together and I wish them the best. First marriage in my generation, Alex is the oldest of my cousins and first to get married. My other cousin Kockraoch( thats his nickname…ofcourse) is planning to get married in the coming year. It is such an eccentric feeling to see my closest family, my childhood playmate, and my ever lasting friend going through this life changing milestone. Six years, what is six years? Six years is how long it takes to finish middle school, to finish college plus grad school. Six years is how long WWII lasted. When Alex first met Eva, has he ever thought he will marry her six years later? Six years ago I was thirteen years old, second grade in middle school, studying hard for my high school entrance exam. Never would I expect myself in US for college. Where will I be six years later? Will I be in a graduate program that I am working hard for right now? Will Obama still be the president?  Will my brother be in China still? Will I look back to today and read this post and say to myself: wow…I have changed so much?

. . . . . . . . Time flies. Minute by minute, day by day. The way time abruptly disappears is breath taking. I want to scream, scream at the ocean, scream to the sky. Scream at the bewildered person in the mirror.

. . . . . . . . Life is a game, indeed. As a kid, I was a fan of Sims, a simulation game of life. Bought all the add-ons and devoted all my energy and time. One day I came to my senses and realized how naive I was. Why control my character to take a shower, do homework, read, eat, watch TV when I myself need to and am able to do that in real life? Complete irony. Since then I have lost all my enthusiasm for all types of computer games. I have the best game, its called life.

. . . . . . . In this game of life, I am under the jurisdiction of time. It forces me to tear off  new calender pages when I desperately glue them back. I can look ahead, I can only to look ahead. The excitement, the joy, the misery, and the hope, it belongs to the future. Nothing belongs to the past,  only memories and lessons to learn. So why look back? It disables you to look ahead. Looking back only means you long for the past. What good is it to look back and stop going forward? Past will not come back, but future is waiting, waiting to be created. Future will never give up on you, so don’t you dare give up on it.

. . . . . . . . What is my future? Get married, have kids, work, and die? There will be excitement, family drama, political chaos, lay offs, raises, wars, peace, love? I am grateful for my easy life, for having such an amazing family, such supportive parents,such wonderful friends, such fabulous country. Because of these, I enjoy my life, sincerely do. I cannot say that I will be happy in a different situation. I know I will not. Farmers in China, in India, even in US. Their kids will never get a decent education. They will not be able to afford college. They will be farmers, generation after generation. Yes, you can argue that since they have never been wealthy, they will be happy. They have never seen the real world, they will be fine with what they have. They can work their way, its a fair game. That is BULLSHIT.  I know I am lucky. I enjoy my life because challenges that I will otherwise face are removed, they do not exist. Indefinitely, I should live my life happily. Enjoy it, conquer it, triumph it.

. . . . . . . . What is my life? How do I conquer it? I want to be free. Free from stereotyping, free from the predetermined. I want to be successful. Successful in that I wake up everyday knowing I have done the right things, no regrets, only elation. I can see myself in six year. I will tell the future me: keep going, you are destined to do so, keep going forward.

Instinctively I crawled back to bed when the alarm set and my first breath of fresh air was notably cold. Freezing to be more exact. The neuron circuit in my brain was calculating which action would be less painful— sleep ten more minutes and rush out to my car in thirty seconds, or give up the precious sleeping time for the risk of heart diseases in my old age. The neurons decided sleeping has an absolute advantage, and the opportunity cost was fairly low.

After dropping Alissia off school, Sriyutha and I went to Barnes and Noble in search for a daily planner. We were aghast to find all the planners and notebooks cleared out due to a relocation purpose. Oh well, a new Barnes and Noble can only be described as deluxe. We soon found new pleasure drenched in isles of 50% off clearances. We treated ourselves with five dollar cook books, and imagined ourselves devouring the pages of professionally photographed foods. After arriving home, I ordered a daily planner from amazon and added a GMAT practice book along with it. The day started amazingly since my planner was on its journey to acquaint me and ease my chaotic and catastrophic life. Room cleaned, laundry done, notes organized; now I just need to bury myself in numerous papers and journals and text books.

On the way back from picking Alissia up from school, we went to Wal-mart since she needed a poster for her español project. Due to our long desire for a sandwich maker and waffle maker, we have decided to stop by and see if the cheapest ones were in stock. Astonishingly it was, both for $9.49! Ten dollar machines!? Luxury indeed, especially for a destitute college student. =) I grabbed a bag of grapes thinking it would at the very least last two day….it it completely gone now…in my stomach…hehe. I strongly believe my genetics text book is hailing me. =) Until next time, from a devastated Homo sapien.
